4.4 Test conditions and preparation.
4.4.1 Test fluid. Unless otherwise specified, the test fluid used for all tests shall conform
to MIL-PRF-83282, MIL-PRF-87257 or MIL-PRF-5606.
4.4.1.1 Test fluid cleanliness. The test fluid shall be pre-cleaned to a level equal to SAE-
AS4059, Class 1.
4.4.1.2 Test fluid filtration. Unless otherwise specified, the test fluid shall be
continuously filtered through a 3-micron absolute filter that will remove 99.5% by weight of
contaminants.
4.4.1.3 Test fluid temperature. Unless otherwise specified, the test fluid temperature
shall be 100° ±10°F.
